In culture wise Vilnius has a lot to offer – thanks to its many talented artist in culture. Choose opera, philharmonics or ballet, you wont be disappointed. Due to its colourful history the museums and galleries are definitely worth visiting. The KGB Museum is one of the most interesting ones. Don’t forget to take a walk in the Jewish quarter, formally known as the Jewish ghetto. Its an interesting part of the town with its small and narrow streets, buildings without gates and low doors and few windows.
The surrounding areas of Vilnius are a must to see when visiting Lithuania. The Europe Park and the geographical centre of Europe are only about 30 minutes drive from the city. And while your at it, take a look at the Trakai Castle. It is situated in the country area with landscape of lakes and islands.
