Costa do Castelo is just outside the wall of Saint George Castle, in one of the oldest neighborhoods in Lisbon, at a walking distance from Rossio Metro Station.

From the Airport:
Catch the subway at the AIRPORT, change in Alameda to the Green Line and step out at ROSSIO station (runs between 6.30am until 1am).

Walking: exit metro through square Praça da Figueira, follow the tram rails along street Rua dos Fanqueiros until number 170, take the free Elevator to the castle (open 9am to 9pm), exit and turn left. You will see a new white building with a 'Pingo Doce' Supermarket; inside there is another public elevator that takes you to our street (works 24 hours)! Go left on Rua Costa do Castelo and after 400 meters, you see us in a dark pink building. After 9pm go from square Praca da Figueira direct to street Rua da Madalena and then take the elevator to our street Costa do Castelo.

Taking Tram 12E: On Figueira square you can catch the Tram 12E (runs from 8am until 8.45pm) and step out at stop Rua Sao Tome (first stop after the tram stops climbing!). Walk backwards along the tram line until you find second street to the left Rua Costa do Castelo (there is a sign pointing to Teatro Taborda, follow it). Walk 300 meters along our street, passing the Hotel and the Teatro Taborda, and you will see us in a dark pink building.

Taxi should not cost more than 17euro. Always ask for a receipt. We recommend you to buy a Taxi Voucher at the airport.

Or catch AEROBUS and stop in Rossio Square. NIGHT BUS 208 runs between 11.30pm and 4.30am and stops at Square Praça da Figueira.

From Santa Apolonia Train Station:
Catch the Metro until BAIXA/CHIADO, exit through Rua do Crucifixo, go straight ahead in street Rua da Vitoria until the free elevator to the castle. Then follow above directions. Or take Bus 759 which stops in Rossio square. Follow above directions.
Taxi should not cost more that 7euro. Always ask for a receipt.

From Oriente Train and Bus Station:
Catch the Metro until ROSSIO or Bus 759 which stops in Rossio square. Follow above directions.
Taxi should not cost more that 12euro. Always ask for a receipt.

From Sete Rios Train and Bus Station:
Catch the Metro until BAIXA-CHIADO, exit through Rua do Crucifixo, go straight ahead in street Rua da Vitoria until the free elevator to the castle. Then follow above directions. Or catch the Night Bus 205, which stops in Rossio square. Follow above directions.

We are located in the old town district of Mouraria, just outside the wall of Castelo de São Jorge, the Lisbon's Castle, with an amazing view over Lisbon's rooftops. The Mouraria district, one of the oldest 'bairros' in Lisbon, birthplace of Fado, is the best example of a neighbourhood where popular Portuguese traditions are still alive, while becoming a meeting point of people from many cultures, from different continents. We are in walking distance from Rossio, Alfama, Graça.
We have 24-hour reception. Any question, just dial 00351218014549. To arrive to our street from Rossio, exit metro station through square Praca da Figueira, follow tram rails to street Rua dos Fanqueiros until n.170, take public elevator (open from 9am to 9pm) step out in street Rua da Madalena, then turn left and take the public elevator in 'Pingo Doce' supermarket building (works 24hours) and you are in our street Costa do Castelo. After 9pm go direct from square Praca da Figueira to street Rua da Madalena and then take the public elevator to our stree. If you do not use the elevators, you will not need to go to a fitness center in Lisbon : ) Starting as of the 1st of January of 2016, the Lisbon City Hall approved a tourist tax paid during check-in: 1€ per person per night for guests aged 13 and older, to a maximum amount of 7€ per stay.

Our XIX century building has a unique terrace and view over Lisbon rooftops, perfect to relax after a full day of exciting discoveries.

Our facilities were fully renovated and refurbished to guarantee maximum comfort and cleanliness. We have central heating in every room and daily housekeeping. There are separated bathrooms for men and for women, hot showers 24hours a day, common room, free computers and free wifi Internet, laundry services, and free use of the kitchen. We are an eco-friendly hostel, using ecolabel cleaning products, recycled paper, and much more!

Our 7 rooms and 2-bedroom apartment, named after Lisbon themes, have plenty space, new mattresses, heaters and free lockers for a cosy stay in Lisbon.

Our outstanding staff organizes free walking tours, trips to Sintra, Mafra and Caparica Beach as well as Portuguese homemade dinners, brunches and Portuguese lessons. We also organize yoga in our terrace and surf classes, with pick-up at our hostel. We also have free maps, travel guides and advices!
