BYH is situated approximately 100 metres away from the sea, it is a short walk to the Hove Lawns and about a mile and a half west from Brighton Pier.

The hostel is close to a bus stop which is serviced by many buses going to and from the city centre. It is also about a 15 minute walk to Hove Station which has direct links to London and takes about 4 minutes to Brighton by train. Brighton Station is about 2 miles away, which can be reached directly with the number 6 bus. There are direct links from Gatwick airport to Brighton Station, and many parts of the country are easily reached with connections at East Croydon and London. From London Victoria it's only 50 minutes to Brighton Station, which is situated right in the heart of the city.

For those driving Brighton is easily reached via a dual carriageway direct to the city from the M25/M23 or A23. There is a multi-storey car park situated a few streets away from BYH.
