Liberation day in Italy
In every country there is this this special day when each of them finally get free from some dictator, Italy celebrates its freedom on the 25th of April. It's a national holiday also in Rome, marking the fall of Mussolini's Italian Social Republic and the end of the Nazi occupation in Italy in 1945, towards the end of the second World War.
If you happened to be in the capital during the 25th, you will see how patriotic Italians are, no matter what and how goes wrong in politics nowadays, there is no chance they would give up on their beautiful and beloved by all world country. There will be huge celebrations around all the country to commemorate this day. Bands are seen performing on the street and concerts are also organized throughout the country to celebrate the liberation of Italy.
This holiday is meant to honor all those who died during the war, fighting the country, political rallies will be also held on this day and a very popular song "Bella Ciao" will be played all over the country as it was sung by the Italian resistance during World War II.
It's all about the honor all soldiers fighting overseas to civilian victims of Allied bombings and atrocities committed during Nazi Germany's bitter retreat from its former allies territory, and that's what they finally get, a freedom...even if the price was that high.
