3 Ducks Hostel
When I think of Paris I think of art, fashion, food, VIP parties and fine wines. When I think of hostel none of those words come to mind until now. I never thought I would ever have occasion to use the words "exclusive" and "hostel" in the same sentence. This hostel has the classy charm of a riviera bungalow, magically tucked inside the busy parisian metropolis, near the Eiffel Tower in smaller borough stashed just outside the tourist stampede. The Metro station to hostel is an 87 second walk (I timed it.)
I imagine my arrival day, navigating a foreign airport and arranging transportation to my hostel. I finally reach my destination and see a relaxing, trendy, yet contemporary cafe/bar. I put my luggage down have a drink and... oh yeah, and check in 'cause it's also my hostel! I put my stuff in the surprisingly spacious and modern room; incredible interior decor, shower and toilet ensuite and a personal safe so I don't have to worry about my passport, tickets, etc. while I take advantage of the Paris nightlife.
Paris nightlife: restaurants, vernissage (art opening), maybe a club and the chill after-party in the spacious patio courtyard of my hostel (open 'til 2am) where my room is in eyeshot so I don't need to worry about how, or if, I'm getting home because the Metro stops at 1:30am. And last, but not least, the morning after (arguably the most important feature in a hostel) waking up where I expected, and finding all my stuff is still there.
I stare at the large contemporary art mural that encompasses the entire wall in front of me, the motif reminding me of the excitement of visiting a large international city and suddenly remembering the free croissants and COFFEE! (real coffee not the watery version) waiting for me just across that sunny patio courtyard in that trendy little cafe, which by the way is also my hostel! All this leaves me wishing that every morning could be this hostel!
