Despite only being the UK's 52nd largest city, Oxford has long been one of its most famous, largely thanks to its world-leading university whose impact on the skyline lends it the name 'city of dreaming spires'. In this short guide we suggest the things to see and do while staying in this magical place.

The Colleges of the University, Christ Church, is a popular choice, housed in a magnificent network of buildings that have been home to some of Oxford's most notable alumni, such as Prime Minister William Gladstone and the writer Lewis Carroll.
