Granada
Dec 18, 2017
Granada (Spanish for “Pomegranate”) is a place that you plan to stay a few days in and then it is a week later and you then you are drinking tea while enjoying your siesta. I lived in Granada for a month and easily fell in love with the vibrant culture, delicious free tapas, nightlife, and the people of Granada. Granada’s history is an interesting read that you also need to make sure you set aside time to do. The Albaicin district, the oldest district in Granada, was once occupied by a community of Muslims that sought refuge in Granada when the Christians were conquering all…

A month in Scotland
Nov 18, 2017
Now is the perfect time to start planning next summer’s travel! Scotland is a beautiful place to visit from June to August, with average temperatures around 18 degrees Celsius. While Edinburgh and Glasgow are Scotland’s most traveled destinations, you must venture further north, through the highlands, to experience authentic Scottish culture and hospitality. I spent five weeks in Scotland and wish I could have stayed longer. Scotland is a uniquely stunning country with a fascinating history! Its cold and wet climate is completely redeemed by its warm people and cozy pubs. Spend the…

London on a Budget
Oct 30, 2017
Since Brexit depreciated the British Pound, London has become a newly accessible city for budget travelers. This bustling metropolis has attractions for every interest, and my favorite way to see the city is by sampling a little bit of everything. When booking your accommodation, choose a location close to the metro so that you will always be well-connected (and it makes it very easy to find your way back if you are lost). I prefer to stay near the British Museum by Russell Square Park since it is quiet, safe, and central.
Start your day with a free visit to the British Museum, where…

The Eternal City
Oct 19, 2017
At some point in your life, you will find yourself in the Eternal City, because as the old adage goes: all roads lead to Rome! It’s easy to get overwhelmed by the number of places to visit since there are thousands of years of well-preserved history in this relatively small city, but that’s the beauty of Rome, because you can see exactly what suits your interests.
For me, the ancient city is the most interesting destination in Rome: you can walk through the same buildings where gladiators fought, emperors ruled, and philosophers changed the course of Western…

City of masterpieces.
Oct 11, 2017
You could spend a week in Florence and still not see all of the masterpieces in the city, so between gelatos make sure to see the best! To start, walk to the defining feature of the skyline: Brunelleschi’s Dome at Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore. This incredible feat of architecture, like most Florentine tourist attractions, is a product of the wealth cultivated in Florence during the Renaissance. At the time, Italy was made up of independent city-states like Venice, Florence, Pisa, and Rome who competed for resources and prestige. From the 14 th to the 18 th centuries, Florence was…

Amsterdam
Oct 04, 2017
There’s no denying the Dutch capital has a big reputation. And whilst it entirely deserves its partying credentials, there is much more than just that on offer. Not only is Amsterdam a beautiful city with its intricate network of canals, bridges and towering narrow houses, but the ridiculously attractive Dutch people whizzing around on their bikes are some of the nicest and friendliest you’ll ever meet!
One of the best things to do in any city is a free walking tour. It’s a great way to find out more about the history of a place while actually exploring it, instead of…

Naples and the Amalfi Coast
Sep 26, 2017
Naples and the Amalfi Coast. A culinary tour of the city and nearby seaside townsNaplesWelcome to Naples! A city that gets a bad rep but has so much to offer. Especially when we’re talking about food. To begin, start with Naples’ famous rum babà. It's a soft airy cake/pastry in the shape of a mushroom, soaked in a delicious rummy syrup. Another pastry you absolutely cannot miss is the sfogliatella. Think buttery, crispy, flakey pastry, wrapped around a warm, rich, sweet, orangey ricotta centre. Total heaven.
Guess what - time for more food! And no trip to Italy is complete…
