Kicking Horse Hostel is Golden's original backpackers & has been hosting guests to the area for over 15 years.
The hostel provides basic but clean & comfortable accommodations to outdoor enthusiasts & independent international travellers. There are 12 dorm beds, 1 single person private room & 1 private room which can sleep up to 3 people. The 3 person private room is up in the attic & the ceiling is pretty low. If you are over 6ft1/1.85m then be aware you may need to stoop! There is a full kitchen, outdoor BBQ, free wifi & free computer with printer. All bedding/towels are provided as well as a complimentary pair of earplugs. Whilst we all love our fellow travellers some sleeping habits can be testing:) Outside is a sunny garden & in the evening the firepit is a great place to enjoy other guests company & share travellers tales.

The hostel is a 100 year converted railway cottage & is located directly across the rail-tracks from Golden town centre. Both the town & the Greyhound can be reached by a short 10-15 minute walk.The ski hill at Kicking Horse is 14km. Banff, Yoho, Kootenay & Glacier National Parks can all be reached within an hours drive.

Please note that the hostel fosters up to 4 kittens/cats for the local animal charity until they are adopted. Whilst the kittens live mostly in the staff accommodation it can't be guaranteed that the rest of the hostel is cat allergen free. if you are seriously allergic to cats then please take note of this information.
