Nomen est omen (lat 'the name says it all'): The Refúgio Hostel Fortaleza is an excellent option for those who are in search of a place to relax, silent, cozy, clean and safe in an appropriate environment for good conversation with our staff and other international travelers.
At the Refúgio Hostel Fortaleza under German management, you will find a familiar and ecologically correct environment with own solar heaters and water reuse system, offering comfort at European level, with a highly motivated team to take care of you and with the clear mission to provide an unforgettable stay at 'your' refuge.

We are offering dorms from 2 up to 8 beds and 2 private suites at generous space, naturally ventilated, light flooded bathrooms, 2 outdoor terraces with a professional stone BBQ grill, a nice garden where you can hang up in our hammocks, a totally new equipped kitchen, open 24/7 for our guests, a TV room with cable TV and much more.
We attend in Portuguese, Spanish, English, German and we understand French and Italian too, but we are not that fluent ;-)
If you want to discover the city by bike, do a boat trip, or whatever it is, we are at your services to fulfill your wishes.


If you have to cancel your booking, you must do it at least 48hrs before arrival.
