The Schoolhouse is a beautiful and unique building built in 1895. The house is set on 75 m2 of lawn and gardens, surrounded by trees with a back drop of snow-capped mountains. Every window looks out to a breath taking view. It was once the village of Taconnaz Schoolhouse and offered education to the local children between the ages of 5 and 12.

The ground floor and now the lounge room was the main class and assembly room with another classroom on the 1st floor. After the closure of the school in the 1990s it tastefully renovated keeping its cozy character and charm with the novel approach of Alpine paraphernalia and use of the original school furniture in its construction. For example you will find ice axes and advertising posters hung on the walls and the mezzanine floors and walls are made from the schools desks!

There are magnificent views from the lounge's large windows and terrace. Perfect for admiring the breath taking scenery. The Schoolhouse sleeps a maximum of 20 people with the option of renting individual floors. In the Schoolhouse there is 1 completely self-contained apartment that has an equipped modern kitchen, bathroom, 2 bedrooms that sleep up to 6 people and a fast free wifi connection.

There is an abundance of hot water and the house is central heated. For a little more ambiance there is a wood fire in the ground floor lounge room. The local supermarket/shopping center is also 5 minutes by car and 15 minutes’ walk away.

Dogs are very welcome at our house. the property is fenced and doggy friends live on site!

We offer an evening pick up service (when you are stuck without public transport) from Chamonix for a small fee. For details please contact us directly.

Welcome to our Hostel Bed and Breakfast! We wish you a nice stay.

Business time - Between 7 am & 9 am then 6 pm & 8 pm we are present for our guests to chat about what to do and where to go, to help you get the most out of your stay in Chamonix.

Please inform us if you have special needs or proposals.

Our house is a private home. We therefore kindly ask you to respect our privacy and to read the info below.
At our guest’s disposal

Beside your own room you may use the bathroom, the guest toilet, the living room and the garden.

Room cleaning, bath towels and bed linen
The rooms are cleaned and bath towels are changed at the end of your stay. Please inform us if you need new towels or bed linen in the meantime. It is not allowed to take our towels out of the house.

Smoking
Please take note that you are staying in a non-smoking house. You may only smoke in the garden.

Rest hours
We kindly ask you to avoid any noise between Midnight and 7 am.

External guests
If you wish to welcome guests please inform us in advance.

Damages
Please inform us of any damaged item so that we can repair or exchange it. Willful or serious damages will be charged.

Not allowed
Cooking and eating in the room are strictly forbidden. It is also not allowed to wash and dry clothes in the room.

Liability for personal belongings and items of value
We disclaim any liability for personal belongings and items of value left in your room.

Check-Out
Please leave the room before 10.00 am on the day of departure. If you have to leave later we can store your luggage. We would be happy if you wrote something on our facebook page. If you were satisfied with your stay in our house then let your friends know. If you were not satisfied then let us know so that we can improve our accommodation.

Cancellation policy: 48h before arrival. In case of a late cancellation or No Show, you will be charged the first night of your stay.
