Marcela, the proprietor of this quaint bed&breakfast, was born in Ecuador and moved with her parents at a very young age to live in the U.S. There she was raised and educated. For 40 years she never returned to her native Ecuador. At the beginning of 2014 she finally returned, traveling to the coast, the mountains in Quito and the Amazon. She was enchanted by the beauty of Ban-os, its climate, the charm of its people, it customs, tastes and smells.

She decided that this would be a beautiful place to live and opened the 'Hostal Monte Carmelo.' A gracious property with lots of space and verdant areas, it is the ideal place for resting after all of the activities offered in Ban-os/

The B&B has 5 rooms with two double beds, and one room that accomodates 5 people (one double bed, one single,and a bunk bed). All rooms have private bathrooms and hot water 24 hours a day. Hostal Monte Carmelo also offers a common room with cable TV, WI-FI iand a terrace with a view of the whole town and of the incredible volcan TUNGURAHUA. Excellent breakfasts and above all peace and quiet in a clean and safe environment.
