Previously a theatrical venue and music venue launching the most successful South African artists, the landmark red giant building is now the home of Obviouzly Armchair Backpackers and Pub - the funky, fun, and cool place to be, retaining the musical and theatrical magic. We are in the hub of bohemian Observatory, with a variety of pubs, restaurants, coffee shops and buzzing nightlife on the same strip.

You won't need to go far though to relax or be entertained. You can chill on the upstairs balcony or lounge, enjoy the outdoors in the outside cafe area, or be entertained in our vibey 'old school pub' with unique features, eclectic dcor and amazing music. Whilst relaxing in your favourite armchair or sitting around the bar watching sport you can enjoy local dishes from our restaurant with your drinks or sit around the bar watching sport and chatting to the locals and travellers.
