If you are looking for a convenient and economical ryokan in Kyoto, Ryokan Yamato is the one for you! Located ideally in downtown Kyoto, we are 15 minutes on foot from JR Kyoto Station, and within walking distance to major sightseeing spots. The famous Buddhist temple Sanjyusan-gendou, Kyoto National Museum, and Toyokuni Shrine are almost right outside our ryokan. Kiyomizu Temple, Higashi-honganji Temple, Nishi-honganji Temple, Kodaiji Temple and Yasaka Shrine are also minutes away by walk.

We are a family-like ryokan, popular among female guests, young couples, and families. We have 9 rooms, all Japanese style. There are no bathrooms in guest rooms. The lavatories are on both the first floor and the second floor. The public bathrooms are on the first floor. Showers are available 24 hours a day, and the bathtubs are available until 23:00. There are soap, shampoo and rinse in the public bathrooms.

We provide Japanese style breakfast and dinner, the genuine Kyoto cuisine cooked by the owner himself.

We offer Komon (Japanese Kimono) and Yukata rental service. The prices are:
Komon include dressing: JPY4500, tax included
Yukata (for female only) include dressing: JPY3500, tax included

We also offer Kimono dressing service for guests who have their own yukata. The prices are JPY1000 less than that listed above.

We welcome guests from all over the world. After visiting the ancient Japanese capital for the day, staying at a traditional Japanese ryokan like ours gives you the opportunity to fully experience the culture of Japan.
