Welcome to The Monkey In The Trees, a brilliant boutique hostel in backpacker friendly West London. Weve spent a lot of time and effort creating something special, a home from home, a snug little space tucked away in Shepherds Bush that offers everything you need: comfort, convenience and culture.
Convenience
Were equidistant between four different underground lines: the Central, District, Hammersmith and Piccadilly. Its quick and easy to explore every corner of London with the knowledge youll easily get back from anywhere. The Piccadilly line is also linked to Heathrow, so if you arrive there were more than convenient (ask us about taxis).
If you plan on exploring the whole of the U.K. Shepherds Bush overground takes you to Clapham Junction - one of the major U.K. transport hubs from which you can explore the whole country.
There are even night buses that travel from the central London to within 1 min of our front door - and they run 24 hours.
Check out the underground map. Were close to Shepherds Bush, Shepherds Bush Market, Wood Lane, Ravenscourt Park and Hammersmith.
Culture
Even if you stay in the local area were a brief walk or bus ride to several world class venues, and numerous smaller, eclectic venues. Music, theatre, cinema and comedy - its all covered and all within walking distance.
Well let the venues do the talking so have a look at:
- Shepherds Bush Empire
- Hammersmith Apollo
- The Bush Hall
- The Ginglik
- The Bush Theatre
- Electric Theatre
- Vue Westfield
- Tabbard Theatre
- Lyric Theatre
Were home to one of the largest malls in Europe, Westfields, the BBC and phenomenal exhibition halls Earls Court and Olympia. All of which are far more exciting than they sound.
There are also numerous award winning restaurants nearby that should suit any taste and budget. With a lunch menu you can eat like a king and pay like a pauper. Its all about local knowledge.
Comfort:
The guest rooms feature hand made wood beds or traditional metal ones, natural wood floors and extra power sockets, reading lights, lockers and free Wi-Fi. A free continental breakfast will fuel you in the morning and the pub, communal kitchen and T.V. room lounge will be there to welcome you back.
Wait a minute, did you say pub?
Yes a Pub. And by Pub we mean a fully featured British Pub with all the fixtures and fitting you would expect - not an afterthought, not a tiny, sad corner of a room but a proper English pub that sits below your room. Its an expansive space place to meet greet, relax and have fun with your fellow travelers. Dont take our word for it, have a look at the photos.
And if you like whiskey ask us, weve got them all. We like whiskey.
The Greyhound Pub first opened to the public in 1892 it was the first pub to greet those traveling from the counties to the capitals West. It was a friendly, welcoming place for locals and newcomers alike and remains that to this day. This idea is the cornerstone of The Monkeys in the Trees hostel.
So, after the history lesson, we mean beers on tap, a plasma television, An open plan, laid back bar featuring comfy sofas, a sunny garden and friendly staff that will welcome you in and welcome you back. Its open to you, and any friends you make on your adventures. No sneaking guests back for a late night beer!
Clean, comfortable and convenient - a cut above the rest. The Monkey In The Trees is not an ordinary Hostel, but who wants an ordinary holiday?
