Minoo house is a stand alone complex of travellers’ experiences, handcrafted ecological designs, comfy beds, a magical atmosphere and local art.

The house is a heritage-listed building in the palace quarter of the centre city. Built by and based around a local community of artists who prefer recycled designs, where ecologically conscious and natural or found materials are used where possible.

Mikszath Kalman Square exists as a peaceful island in the centre of the cycloning 5th, 7th and 8th districts, where posh meets with the underground, coffee meets with culture, and Melbourne meets with Budapest. The square and the house itself, with its history and double life in the cultural scene of the city, serves as the perfect backdrop to Budapest for those who like to ask questions, peer through keyholes and open doors.

From the desire to create for ourselves a space in the city, and a place to return to, came Minoo House: a chilled out base for travellers and something a little more heartfelt than the typical tourist encounter.
We are intricately connected to the cultural scene in Budapest and under the hostel we are running our art and sculpture workshops, electro and visual laboratory and music studio - rubadub styla.
